  • Horrible dropping feeling

I was hoping someone could help me out with this dropping pain I've been having in my bladder. Every time I take a step I feel this pain in my bladder that makes it feel like it's dropping out of me. I was diagnosed with ic 2 years ago. I have recently started taking Elavil which has been pretty amazing until now. I have had barely any symptoms for the past 3 weeks but I've had the dropping pain for the past 5 days. I have had this before but it's always gone away in a few hours not days. Does anyone know how it starts ( eating the wrong thing, sex etc?) and is there anything that will help? Thank you! Just trying to take care of my kids with this is awful!

    Re: Horrible dropping feeling

I have at times described an IC flare as feeling like menstrual cramps --- or like giving birth to my bladder. It sounds like you may be having bladder spasms. You might want to as your doctor about trying a smooth muscle antispasmodic.

I am recently diagnosed and new to the forum. My biggest frustration and discomfort is this. My bladder feels like it is going to fall out. Is there anything that can help this?

I don’t think that I ever figured out how to make that feeling stop but I will say I haven’t had that feeling in years. This post was the last time I felt that dropping feeling. It will stop. Do you ever sit on ice? Numbing everything up has always helped me. Also drinking a tsp of baking soda in water twice a day drastically changed my symptoms.

I haven’t tried the baking soda but I will. I have been researching d-mannose and l-arginine supplements as well. I will try the ice also. Thank you for the hope it will get better.😊

Bladder Q is fantastic too and Cysts Q. You can buy both on amazon.

                to the IC Network.

In addition to the other suggestions being offered, I suggest you have a look at items in the ICN Shop (see link at the top of this page). Also, are you following an IC diet? If not, I suggest you begin today. That single step helps most IC patients.

I have been following the IC diet guidelines and have been using prelief if I go out. No alcohol and been pretty strict with myself.
