    EC

    Yesterday I recived an email from a patient with EC, but she told me that her uro said that she has this disease because her bladder has ulcers, is this true??

    She is on Elmirón, but it doesn´t work in her, and her big problem is the pain and nocturia

    I want to know where can I read about this cystitis

      Hi Flore,

      There isn't much information to be found relating to Eosinophilic Cystitis. EC is a rare bladder disorder and very little research is being done.

      Bladder ulcers are a major EC symptom, but since they're also a symptom of many other bladder disorders, a diagnosis of EC can not be made on that finding alone. The most reliable way to diagnose EC is through deep muscle biopsy. For more information, please check the ICN's EC Resource Center.
