Could it be autoimmune?

I asked this question to my urogynecologist and he said, maybe but that they just don't know. The reason I asked this is because I was put on plaquenil for a few weeks until I developed a pretty bad allergic reaction to the drug. I was put on it for sjogrens syndrome which is autoimmune though I'm not sure I actually have this though I do have the chronic dry eyes.
ANYWAYS, while I was on it, my bladder became oh so quiet!!!!
No frequency, urgency, discomfort, it was wonderful.

Also wondering if prednisone helps anyone with IC? Has anyone been offered that therapy since it reduces inflammation?

Prilosec, continuous birth control pills
synthroid .088mg, mucinex-d, restasis

Diag Mild IC Jan 11 but have had symptoms for 25 years. Also have GERD, TMJ, IBS-C, chronic dry eye syndrome, hashimotos thyroiditis, non-allergic rhinitis.

There is some thought that interstitial cystitis is an auto-immune disease, but nobody knows for sure. I hope one day soon a cause will be found; and a cure closely behind.
