Will IC disqualify you from military service?

Im thinking about joining the Air Force as an officer once I get my master's degree. I was wondering if as long as the IC is well managed would they let me in? Or is it completely disqualify?-thanks

There is no test they do for it. When I was going to go to OS they do the tests as in xrays, eye and hearing exams, etc. I say you would be ok, it isn't in their book of declines like weight loss surgery is.

I am still surprised the first reply back was just the other day. OK. I had not seen the post at all. She may have her master degree by now for all I know. I do know I did spend 4 years in the Navy, but that was between 1987-1991. OK. I was not diagnosed until 1997. Yep! I have read a couple of posts from people getting diagnosed while in the military. Of course, they don't usually take people with disabilities too much. I would not have wanted to stay in the Navy with IC at all. I do know one dude that was getting ready to deploy with a national guard unit that got diagnosed. Regardless, he was not able to deploy and no longer belongs to the unit as far as I know. I also noticed the person has fibromyalgia. OK. I just mentioned that because that would mean more than one condition that causes pain. Anyhow, that diagnoses may be enough to keep some from getting in. I don't know, but I am sitting in here in pain and tired and well aware I am on disability retirement by now. I read about one officer that was diagnosed and ended up putting in to retire.(as he had over 20 years) OK. He went on to be a teacher until he fell asleep at a red light. Maybe it was ok to put that. Oh, well!
