Definately use Consumer Credit Counseling, a non-profit agency. It doesn't cost you anything. Or better yet, try checking out Dave Ramsey and his program. There are online tools, classes that you can take usually at a local church (this does cost but it is a lifetime membership) books, and a radio program. What I like about his program is that he uses it to this day and it is a total life style change so that you don't end up in the same situation again. He is great, very motivational and inspirational. I would recommend his program to anyone! We have taken the classes but need to go back again, changing the way you live financially is as easy or rather hard as changing your eating habits!! But so worth the work.
    Good luck.

Please telephone the Chamber of Commerce in your city to see if they have credit counseling. If they do, that's the safest way to go. They will help work with your creditors and help you work out a plan to reduce your debts sensibly.

    Good luck!

I was just like you. I was so so so far in the hole and it was all doctor bills and stuff like that. I too called one in the phone book and holy cow they helped me out they call all your bills that you need help with along with doctors bills that has been turned over. Than they talk down intrest rates with them and anything that is past due they will help talk with them about that too. I have been with these guys for over a year. They arrange all payments and you only make one payment a month and theytake it out of your bank account. Than once one is paid they take that payment and tack it on to another bill so it gets paid faster. If you want the name of the company i go thourgh just let me know. I really hope this helps. I called around until i knew i found the right one. No hidden fees.

    Credit card debt solutions?

    Hi all,

Maybe some of you also have accumulated a big credit card debt as well.
I have a debt and I always pay my montlhy bills, however, it is a considerably large amount! and a lot of my expenses were medical related. Having a cc debt is such a big burden! True, cc's helped me when I had a bank bal of $15.00 and had to go to so many doctor appointments, buy supplements, etc etc. Health is number one, right? and it is priceless.

I haven't charged anyhting on my credit cards for over 6 months but still I struggle to pay the minimun payments each month. I look for debt consolidation and called a number on an add on TV but there are SO many!

They promise to reduce the debt and lower APR%, but they also charge a fee... I don't know who to trust. I don't know if I'll be dealing w a scam...
Can anyone point me in the right direction? what would be the best thing to do?
    Is there a goverment program???
Working...
