Disability Pension for Non-Service-Related Disabilities
This information is for any of you who have IC and have been in the service. I run across by accident when some suggested that maybe the VFW would be able to help me with trying to get SSI. Which I have had to get an attorney because I was declined for the second time. Application for this can be done on line ( which I have already done) & can take up to 3 to 4 months for the application to be processed . This is the website address http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/ . Also here is the web site for The Center for Women Veterans http://www.va.gov/womenvet/ . I also have some other information that I saved to my computer & if any one wants I will email them to anyone that wants them (let me know what format). The titles are: Disability Pension Benefits & Periods of War. The VA pays you the difference between your countable family income and the yearly income limit which describes your situation (see chart above).
