  • I GOT DISABILITY !!!!!!!!!!!

I started to post the below on the IC Boards on Sunday evening when I started and laid down for a while thinking that I would finish it either that night or Monday morning. I woke up in the early morning with awful abdominal cramps and had to have my husband take me to the VA Hospital for an Urgent care appointment and I again ended up in the hospital again with yet another intestinal blockage. This is the third one this year and the first after having had surgery for intestinal blockage on Feb. 28 2002 at 8:00 o’clock at night. I was only in the hospital 3 days this time and that is why I’m posting this now.

I don’t believe it when I picked up my mail yesterday (Oct 26) there was an envelope from SSA and I was almost afraid to open for fear it would say that I was but denied. On the front page it NOTICE OF DECISION-FULLY FAVORABLE and I wonder if I had been approved or not. I started reading it & found that I had been approved from Nov. 1 2001. My initial application had been from March 1, 2001 but on advice of my attorney amended it to Nov. 1, 2001 due to the fact that I had been self employed and said that between the two times I said that I had worked part time & the judge might not find that creditable being self employed
They approved me on the following Interstitial cystitis, status post surgery in February 2002 for bowel obstructions and depression. I was in court on Oct 10th and didn’t expect my decision so quickly. The ALJ recommended a continuing disability review be carried out with one year of the date of this decision. Is it usually for them to review a case this soon after a decision?

I don't think SS does anything that's usual or unusual so it's hard to tell what they are going to do. My first review came exactly 2 years from the day I filed. After that review I was told from now on I will only be reviewed occasionally.
I'm sooooooooooo glad that you won, sure wish we had the dancin' baby so I could dance for you!!!!

    tons and tons of happy hugs <img src="graemlins/grouphug.gif" border="0" alt="[grouphug]" />
Courage does not always roar. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "I will try again tomorrow".
