I had a phone appointment a month or two ago, and what they did was ask the names of your doctors, your treatments, addresses, things like that, what you own, job stuff, house stuff...did you inititally start up online or over the phone?I did my intitial sign up on the phone, and that's how I got my phone interview...the lady told me a bunch of things that the interviewer would want to know, so I organized everything on the day I was expecting a call. That is a story in itself, they never called when they were supposed to!!! cussing But I did get a hold of them lol. Then my case was handed over to the state level to be reviewed, and I was supposed to inform them of any upcoming surgeries or new doctors seen. Good luck!

Actually, I went to the "Social Security" office here in town and speaked to a guy behind the desk. He gave me a sheet to fill out (Doctors, When I visited, and some other information, but not much..) and scheduled a Phone-Interview for me on the 11th and told me to keep the paper I filled out near the phone so I'd be prepared.
I hear it can take two months or more before I'm accepted or recieve a check. Doesn't really matter to me, but I hope they do accept the claim, because I need the money to pay for my ever-growing Doctor and Medication bills.
Please keep in mind that you may not be approved right away. I was denied with in 2 months of applying.I am now appealing, witha n attorney this week, and who knows how long this will take. i met all thr criteria that they require and was still denied. Please remember this is usually a long battle.

Lawyers won't charge you in advance. If they are successful, they are limited by law to about 25% of the accrued back benefits that you get. Also, there is a 5-month waiting period--you won't get any money for the first 5 months of your disabilty.
