  • Questions at hearing Help!!!!

Hi everyone I am new to the board and really am enjoying all your helpful comments. bunny I wondered if yall could give me an idea of what kinds of questions they will ask at the hearing, how long does it take once you apply for the hearing to get a date? Is it in a private room or out in the court room with alot of people? I would be so embarrassed to tell everyone about my personal probs. banghead How long does the hearing usually last? Do you know whether or not you get the answer right then or do you have to wait? Any other info on this subject would be greatly appreciated. Thank yall and god bless you. grouphug

    hi lisa,
for my hearing it took me from april 02 to nov 26 03 for me to get a date for a hearing. then 60 days later i got a letter from the judge saying i was appoved. while i was in the court room. it was just the judge my layer me and the ladie who keeps the record from the hearing there. the hearing only took 15-20 mins. the judge ask me a few question like. when did this start for me. when i'm having an infection how long does it take me to get over it. what types of meds did i take and why and for what. how does my day go. do i drive and if so how much. was i married did i have children. the judge was very nice and even when i had to go pee. he didn't say a word. its just heck fighting with the ssd and ssi. ,but i found out after my hearing that here on the icn network they have some great information u can get from them to help with your case. some people get approved more quickly best of luck to you. grouphug

Yeah, mine went pretty much the same way. Unfortunately, I was denied but I'm beginning to wonder if just about anyone with a legit cause can win this thing they just keep coming back for more (so to speak). I was asked questions by both the judge and the court appointed "doctor". Unfortunately, I don't think the judge was actually listening going by what he said he heard from me! If I had to go back again (to court), I would be tempted to to hide a small tape recorder on me somewhere!
