  • Update on Hearing...

    Hi all!

I thought I would let you all know that things went very well with my administrative hearing I had a few weeks ago. (sorry it took so long to update.. had a few problems with the IC after) I was assigned to a great judge.. very no-nonsense, tell me the facts sort of thing. The hearing was very informal as well, just me, my attny, the judge,a lady to operate the tape recorder and the medical expert. There was supposed to be a vocational expert there as well but for some reason he didn't show. The judge asked general questions about what I do everyday, my frequency, pain, what I was able to do as far as housework, cooking, etc. Then my attny asked me questions sort of to follow up or make a little clearer some of the things the judge had asked. The "medical expert" then gave his testimony as to whether my testimony was in his opinion in line with IC. He was an internist who stated he had seen a few patients with IC. The Dr. didn't ask me any questions at all, but said that my testimony about my limits and frequency were in line with IC. The only thing bad he said was that the level of pain I have he had not personally seen in the patients he had treated with IC, but also said that IC was capable of causing this sort of pain. My attorney was very pleased with how the hearing went and even went as far to say that he expects a fully favorable decision. Keep your fingers crossed for me!! My attorney said that I should hear something within the next 90 days whether it had been approved or not.

One thing I did want to tell all of you out there who are waiting on a hearing... after you have your hearing, depending on the judge you have, it can take up to 12 months to get a decision!! cussing That to me is unacceptable, esp. since you have to wait so long to get to this part of the process anyways. I wish you all the best of luck and if you have any questions I did not outline let me know. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes for my hearing.
