I FINALLY got a court date for SSD, after waiting 18 months! This is 2nd go round, and when I got denied the 2nd time, I got a SSD lawyer and now, 18 months later, I will be in court Sept 18th This has been so stressfull but I have had to wait it out! Unfortunatley, for me, I do not respond to very many meds, or procedures I have bad reactions, so, I'm at the end here, just hanging on to the knot at the end
Wishing you all pain free days

Hey Susan~the sooner you start the better off you are. There are some girls who have had to fight for months and months to get it. Just call your SS office and ask some questions. That's what happened to me, I had just called with some questions. The girl, who was a complete doll, is the one who suggested that I start the application now because some times it takes so long, AND you can stop the process anytime you want.

wishing you the very best

Congratulations Teri! And good luck Pam. I'm in the process too. I've been denied twice and am now waiting for a hearing date. I do have disability insurance at least, so financially I'm not too bad. I hate the waiting and stress though! Red tape sucks!!

To Terri, I am so happy for you.. This must make it easier to concentrate on your recovery. For Pam, I just had my Court date on Aug. 6th.. I did not sleep for about a week before, going through every angle in my mind.. I am not going to lie to you it is hard.. They ask you alot of questions.. The attorney ( yours ) asks you about your desease, how it affects your daily life.. Then the ADJ asks very speciffic questions on a day. From rising to going to sleep.. He wanted to know why I could not just wear Depends pads and work.. I just said the pain involved, and voiding is something that takes a few min. for us, and that I already wear pads anyway for incontinance.. Then we had another break, and a lady for Occupational Social Services comes in.. I had never seen her before.. So I was nervous. She read off to him jobs I was qualified to do. Both skilled and unskilled.. Then he asked her with my condition could I miss more than 3 days a month if I were sick, or have 5 breaks during the course of an hour.. She said no.. One thing I did, was to make a copy of my pay check stub and my schesule and show them how much work hours I am scheduled to work, and how many I miss because of my illness..
Also I was denied health Insurance, and I took them a copy of this.. The attorney also had all of my medical records from the last 20 plus years.. before my diagnosis, when I had symptoms, and after.. This is important.. I bet I have spent hundreds of hours over the course of the last year and a half getting ready for this..
I still do not know anything.. Now it takes 30 to 60 days to receive your ruling.. Fun huh!>!>
