Review Question

Hey

I was wondering when SSA puts you up for review every so often does it delay your checks until the review is over or do the checks automatically come the same time every month? Just curious. If anyone knows about this please let me know. Thanks LisaK

Hi! My Husband and daughter recieve ssi, and no they donot hold your check until after review, you have nothing to worryabout. My husband was reviewed after one year on ssi, and he was concered about this also. If you are coming up for review, they will see if there has been any changes in your status as disibility, such as income, household members, rent, things of that nature. If you are required to see one of their doctors and i roll my eyes cuz my husband got to see one of theirs and the doc, was very weird lol, they may do a phsical exam- at least they did in my husbands case. They will make a desion on wether or not you are still diabled. if you are they will continue your arranged amoount. if they considered you "better" or not disabled anymore under their standards, then you will recieve one more check for the month that you are entitled to after the review- then the following month your payment stops. and you will recieve a letter stating it will stop and why, and the date it stops. and an apeal paper. This is what was explained to me when i asked the same question when my husband came up for review. I hope this helps. christine
