Hi, I was just wondering about SS. I want to apply for the disability benefits, but I'm so young, I'm only 20. I've had to quit jobs because I was on the verge of being fired for not being able to get out of bed. I had to quit school before because I could not attend. (College, but I'm doing home studying now, so much easier that way) I go to the bathroom about 20-30 times a day, with the urgency to go every 5 minutes, but of course nothing comes out. I've been so depressed lately about my life, about my limitations. I'm on Elmiron, Vioxx, Elavil, soon to be an anti-histamine, and hopefully some pain meds strong enough to actually work. The problem is, my Uro doesn't like to distribute pain meds to chronic pain patients. And before I was diagnosed I was unable to work, and he knew that and so does his nurse. He says his top priority is to make the symptoms minimal, so at least he's admitting that there is no cure and it will take awhile to help me...but I've only been diagnosed and on meds for 3 months, and he keeps adding pills, also I have Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and anxiety...do I have a good chance to get some relief from the SS board? I just don't know what to do, I can't function anymore and it's impossible to stand on my feet for 8 1/2 hrs a day, even part time, and be nice and cheerful to people when I feel like someone is taking broken glass and grinding it into my abdomen and bladder! banghead Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I understand. It can be so frustrating when it takes so long to find just the right combination to help you feel better. And the elmiron can take up to six months or longer before it really helps. Hopefully you will be one who is helped significantly by it.
Sending warm healing thoughts,
