  • told approved, now told pending -reconsideration

I am soooooo upset right now. I had SSD for 5 years. They did a review and stated that I had improved. No where in my records does it state that. I think they pulled that out of their butt!! Sorry for wording but that is how I feel. I had to do a reconsideration. Both of my doctors wrote a letter and I sent the IC disability pack information in to them like I did when I first applied and was approved in 4 months.

I called SSD today. I hope what I am about to tell you never happens to anyone else. I filed my reconsideration in November 2010. I was sent a letter asking if I wanted to keep recieving my benefits while I wait for an answer. So of course I said yes. My file just sat on the case managers desk and he didn't get to it in time so I didn't get a payment for January or February. I called and he appologized and set up what they call a critical payment for 2 months. Well I recieved a letter after that stating that I owe 2 payments back to them for Jan and Feb. so I called and explained what happened all over again. Then in May they paid me twice so I called to let them know. I recieved a letter just yesterday stating that I now owe them 3 months worth of payments. I called to get this straightened out and the lady said she would take care of it, which I have heard that before. She then informed me that while your under reconsideration you can only recieve provisional payments for 6 months. I told her that it should not matter now that I have been approved. I had called last week about all the payment mess and the lady told me that I was approved in March. She informed me that I have not been approved. She said that my case was still pending. I can NOT believe these people blantenly lied to me. Now that it has been 6 months I don't know if they are going to cut off my pay or not. I need that money every month to pay bills. I told her that part of my disability is depression and this certainly is not helping. I was crying because I am soooo stressed out now. How could some one just lie to me like that. I even asked the lady if she was sure because I had not recieved a letter. She assured me that I was approved. I am at my witts end. Thanks for listening to my SSD nightmare.
