My back pay was in my account this morning! I haven't received any paperwork about my approval except for the approval itself. I do have a question for any of you who have gone through this and been approved. I qualified for 24 months of back pay because they put my disability as starting Dec.2006. My understanding was that with putting my disabled date so far back that also excluded me from that 5 month waiting period that they impose on back pay. However after figuring it they paid me for only 19 months instead of 24. Anyone know....is my info correct? Thanks in advance!

Just FYI....the answer to my above question is that no matter when your disability started they always take out 5 months of your back pay to cover a mandatory 5 month waiting period. This does not apply to SSI but only for SSD. Just another way to take more from us. I'm still thrilled beyond words that I am approved and it all seems to be coming together. I never thought this would happen.
