  • Our Sympathy & Condolences to Virginia Tech

With the appalling and horrific on-campus shooting this morning at Virginia Tech, we would like to send our prayers to all of the family members of those who were killed (31 students and/or professors so far), the dozens of students who have been injured, the community and University.

This is a devastating day for students everywhere to see, just how tragically, a safe place can become devastated.

Our prayers are with them all!

This is the first time I heard of it. (I either had the radio off at work, or been in meetings this afternoon. My prayers are with the families.

I didn't hear about this until Jill posted it as I didn't listen to the radio or have access to a tv all day at work. This is just so horrible. I really feel for all of the families. These types of things are just so upsetting.
                Christine

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

I hadnt heard about it yet either, since I had to go to the Pain Clinic today. (It's all day thing, as it is so far away.) I am so stunned! This is so horrible. May God bless and comfort each of those touched by this.

I had posted a thread this morning regarding this senseless tragedy.
VT has been a part of my family for many years as my brother is an engineering graduate (1982); I also have cousins and friends who are graduates.
Being a Va'ian theres not a day goes by that we dont hear about VT or come across an alumni, etc.
Today was most sickening and disturbing.

Sending everyone affected by this incident my heartfelt sympathy.

It is sad and it brings fear to people because no where is really safe anymore. I can't even imagine what these people are going through right now and my heart goes out to them.

                          Hugs, Trishann

What insanity..........I have two in college still......this is so heartbreaking........God bless those poor parents.......

It is like it doesn't stop though.......my oldest is an assistant director of a daycare that had lockdown last week as a gunman shot three people 1/2 mile from them in Troy (that gunman also worked at my kids' high school from 1998 to 2000--way too close for comfort) And Tera Lynn Grant was murdered by her husband in February.......two children without their parents...........ugh ugh ugh..........we have a war right here in our own country........

They are comparing this to the UT -Austin shooting in 1966- which of course I don't really remember as I was on 6 at the time,(plus the fact, I wasn't living in Austin at the time) but each August they have something about it. But this is the worse of the University shootings. Up till yesterday, the Luby killings in Killeen, Tx was the worse. But each and every killing is bad. I just feel for the families and what they go though. I watched Night Line (or what ever it is now that is on after the 10:00p.m. news) and that is the most that I seen on it besides what I read in the newspaper this morning. The local news guy was asking what what was going on in this guys head? You, know, you just have to wonder, probably nothing, just a cold hearted ---- (I don't know if I can even say what I really want to say, without being thrown off the boards, so I won't say it, but I'm sure you all will agree with me.)
