  • Pet Food Recall - Full list of brand names

For my fellow pet lovers, you probably heard about the massive pet food recall announced yesterday by Menufoods that eaffects more than 50 different brand names throughout the USA & Canada. The concern ais focused on the "gravy" based wet foods, in foil packets and cans. A significant number of dogs and cats have been killed and/or suffered kidney failure after eating the product due, possibly, to a contaminated source of wheat gluten.

Two companies have provided a seperate recall... the Eukanuba and Iams brands of wet foods. These are very large, famous and credible companies that are very popular in the USA. In addition, all of the wet foods for the companies listed below should be returned to your store for a full refund

Here's a complete list of the manufacturers effected:

Thank you for posting this! My husband had a couple cans of "Your Pet" dog food around -- he went to get his money back. As for our cat, his food's okay according to this list. I'm so glad you posted it so we could check!

I get Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover's Soul and I don't know if it's made by any of the companies listed, but not shown on the bag or something. Does anyone know if it's listed or if they sub out their work or anything?

Thank you Jill, my daughter has a sick dog and we thought maybe this was why but it is not the brand she feeds the dog. But you just don't know anymore about these things.

          Thanks again, Trishann

            Hey,

I'm pretty sure Chicken soup is ok. Thats manufactured by Diamond pet food which is not (as far as I know) part of Proctor and Gamble. From what I gather in the article in my paper, Menu Foods is the company that is having the recall. They're the petfood component of proctor and Gamble, and they make IAMS brand and Eukanuba in addition to the others listed in Jills post.

Other brands, like Diamond pet food and Purina (which is part of Nestle) are fine.

Our doggie gets dry food and our brand isn't on the list so I think we're okay.

                  Thanks, Jill

I brought back the Iams to PetSmart today. No problem, they refunded my money. I think I have some Science Diet too that I have to bring back.

Thank you for posting this!!! I was so relieved to see that my pets' food was not on the full list; I had heard about the recall on the news, but many news programs did not provide a list of all the brands. Anyways, I really appreciate it!!!
