  • Saying Thank You to Donna, The SuperMods, Mods & you all!

Where does a support group leader go support??? Or... where do I for support?? Right here in the ICN Boards. It means the world to me that so many of you are there on those days when I need hugs too. Thank you so much!!!

These last few days have been rough and I've barely been here.... and, you know, if it weren't for ...

    Donna, our amazing board leader!!!!!

Our fabulous supermoderators - vm, Sarojini, SandyRn, Katrina, Julie B, dyno, DebbieB and Alexa

Our spectacular moderators - dancemomof2, Dianne, ihurttoo, jaime15, jess214, judith56, kara29, katherine, Kathi, Kelli, Kelly McC, skyler, tigger_gal, traceann & yvette

... where would be??? When I'm having a meltdown or personal crisis and can't be here, you folks are so awesome. You keep the boards a safe, kind and loving place for patients to gather. You are my heroes. Honestly, it's true. The ICN is best represented by each one of our volunteers, both past and present. You know who you are!!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping things together while I'm coping with my own struggles this week!

Would you like to talk with someone about your IC struggles? The ICN now offers personal coaching sessions that include myself, Julie Beyer RD on the diet and Dr. Heather Howard on Sexuality.

Thank you Jill. Of course we give you support, why wouldn't we.. When ever I have a problem and needed you, you were right there at the other end of the phone for me. If it wasn't for you, we all wouldn't be here. Thank you for making such a wonderful place for us to hang out.

AMEN! I have never found a place on the internet where I felt so instantly loved and welcomed. Total acceptance for each and every one who comes here seeking solace. Never does anyone feel that they have to "work" their way in here or "earn" acceptance. That is an amazing thing you have created here Jill. Thank you from me and my family. My family thanks you so much, because they benefit tremendously from me having a place to go for comfort and relief. I have been in such a better mood since finding this BB. I have my ups and downs, but the downs are fewer and shorter lived.

God bless you Jill and I hope I can do half as much for you as you have done for me.

              Thank you.

First, I want to thank you for creating this haven for ICers... it's helped me and hundreds of others

Second, I want to thank you for posting this today. I desperately needed someone to tell me that something I do is good, worthwhile, and that I do it right.

*Diagnosed with severe IC in 2004
*Also diagnosed with PFD, fibromyalgia, chronic myofascial pain, IBS, migraines, allergies/asthma, dermatographism
*Kept trying a million different treatments for all these things until I found what works, and I am doing okay these days with the help of a cocktail of medications and the InterStim, which was first placed in 2007. [I have had 2 revisions - one in 2010 when my battery died and had to be replaced, and one complete replacement (lead and generator) in 2012 after a fall on my stairs caused my lead to move.]
*Current meds include Atarax (50mg at night), Lyrica (150mg twice a day), Xanax (0.5mg at night and as needed), Zanaflex (4mg at night), hydrocodone (10/325, every 6 hours as needed), Advair, Nasonex, Singulair (10mg at night), oral contraceptives, home instills containing Elmiron and Marcaine (as often as I need to do them).

**I am not a medical authority nor do I offer definitive medical advice. I strongly encourage you to discuss your medical treatment with your personal medical care provider. Only they can, and should, give medical recommendations to you.

Thank YOU, Jill. None of us would be here together without YOU. We're just giving back what you gave us.

                      Diagnosed August 2001

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)

I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

“We who lived in concentration camps can remember the men who walked through the huts comforting others, giving away their last piece of bread. They may have been few in number, but they offer sufficient proof that everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms -- to choose one's attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one's own way.” ~ Viktor Frankl

“You cannot control what happens to you, but you can control your attitude toward what happens to you, and in that, you will be mastering change rather than allowing it to master you.” ~ Brian Tracy

Thank you so much, Jill. I honestly feel I owe my life to you. I think I would have been so lost without the ICN. I don't express it the way I should, but honestly I have thanked God many many times for you, and I've also been grateful to the other moderators and to the ICN family as a whole.

We would be lost without you, I'm sure of it. I don't know how any of us would cope if you weren't here.

                        Blessings and hugs,
