I take hyoscyamine when I have spasms and it's very soothing for me.

Sometimes with the help of a physician, insurance companies will make exceptions and cover essential medications. It's worth a try for you.

I would really really like to try one of the blue meds, but I was prescribed Hyoscyamine (one of the ingredients) separately and it made my frequency/urgency SO MUCH WORSE! Which is saying a lot, considering I was already going over 30 times a day...on Hyoscyamine, it increased my frequency to 65 times per day. It was really awful...

I still am tempted to try the Uribel/Urelle/blue meds though, because I am really desperate for a solution.

I use UTA,another blue Urinary Tract Anticeptic.I don't know the cost of it as I only have a $9.00 co pay. It works well.

I have an RX for Uribel also. I've been waiting until I run out of Urelle to try it. Have you used any other similar meds, or is Uribel your first? I'm just curious how I might do on it....since my doctor mentioned that Urelle is no longer available. (I'm not sure why.)

You might ask your pharmacist if there is another brand that is cheaper. There a quite a few of the "blue" drugs that mostly contain the same ingredients. Check your insurance formulary and see if you can find another one that is covered, I am sure your Dr would be willing to change your script. Those type of meds come and go frequently under different names from different companies, that is probably why it isn't on your formulary.

I am glad that it is helping you.

    Uribel

Doc just gave me a RX for Uribel. I am much more confortable. Cost of drug. Go to the Uribel web site and download coupon. My insurance does not cover this drug. With the coupon it was $99.00. It seems a lot but the results have been worth. it. I hope that my flare subsides and I don't have to use it too often. I still use Prelief.
I hope this information helps those in need.
