  • Need some help heavy bleeding after D and C!

This is kind of a long story but I’ll try to be short, I had a D and C procedure 2 weeks ago.... I was fine up until the 8 Th day I started bleeding heavily with clots filling up 2 pads in an hour. I ended up in the ER they basically did nothing for me. I insisted on seeing my surgeon he got me in and seemed rather salty with my pestering that somethings not right, He said this heavy bleeding is nothing to worry about and gave me Tranexamic acid to stop the bleeding. So I took two pills it did stop the bleeding but I’m in severe pain and pressure and can hardly pee. The doctor refused to do an ultrasound saying it won’t show anything. Something has to be wrong this is not normal after a D and C procedure. So my PCP ordered an ultrasound but I can’t get in till Tuesday, Has anybody else had a bleeding problem after D and C.

I've never had a D and C, but any time there is heavy bleeding, it's an indication that you need to see a doctor --- which you have done. If the bleeding gets any worse, I suggest giving your PCP a call.

    Sending gentle hugs,
    Donna
