Oh Carla, I know exactly that whole thing. Where you think it must be just a miracle you've had good pain control, and the meds are finally working the way they should.... and then crash! It truly does bring you to your knees. It's amazing. I'm so sorry you are hurting. I hope it is over soon.
Thank you!! You all are the reason I keep coming back here! Still flaring away... and my uro is not in the office today- it figures.
I have a comic strip I do for my quilting and fiber art work. It is how I express myself at times. I drew this up to express what I am feeling today, though I had to downsize it so much it may not be readible. The chicken character is saying : "IC Flares are extremely hard to live with..." The red thing is an IC Pain Meter. Hugs, Carla
Carla, I'm so sorry... it stinks when you've been feeling so good for a long time and then the IC comes raging back. That is the most frustrating of all flares!!
I hope you are feeling better today -- and I hope you get quick appts. with your docs...
It's back- and with a vengence! I had been coping with only mild IC pain and symptoms the last few months. I figured that my pain management (MScontin and vicodin for breakthrough) was doing it's job or I was in a remission of sorts.
A flare started this weekend and it has brought me to my knees. I'm throwing all my meds and coping skills towards it and the pain level is staying way high. Tonight I'm at a 9- with pain meds!
Tomorrow, I will call my uro and try to get an appt. If my pain level remains high, I'll call my pain management doc, too. I'm also glued to my heating pad (heat seems to help at times) and will take another warm bath.
