  • I'm really sick

I think that I have a double kidney infection because my back HURTS so bad, over both kidneys, my urine smells horrid, it burns to pee again, and I have a 101.4 degree fever. I'm just hanging out trying to sit up for a little while til Tom gets home then I guess we'll go to the ER or something if I still feel this terrible. I haven't felt THIS bad in such a long time. I could barely get out of bed this morning to pee, and have spent most of my day there trying not to move. This just stinks

04/17/09 Crohn's disease almost killed me with a combo of extreme constipation from pain medications. My bowel ruptured, I almost died from peritonitis and spent several days in the ICU then more in a private room on the floor. If you have any questions about severe constipation from pain meds please don't hesitate to send me a message.

Oh No, Sandy...I am so sorry. Please let us know what they say at ER if you go. And I do think you should go. There's no sense fooling around with that stuff. Then again, you already know that.

Thanks Sharon. I don't think there's any doubt now that I'll be going to the ER. I put in a call to the uro and am waiting on his call back. I'm hoping he'll call the ER desk for me so they're expecting me and maybe I won't have to wait in that awful waiting room. Honestly, I don't think I can sit up that long...every other time this has happened he fixed it so I was a direct admit...literally praying for that now. I can't sit up anymore...going back to bed. I'll call Barb later if I can and have her let you guys know whats happening.

Oh no Sandy! So sorry to hear that you feel so horrible. I hope that you're going to be okay. Hope that you could get admitted right to the ER and didn't have to sit in the waiting room.
                              Christine

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

Proud wifey of Shane, mommy to Griffin, and step-mom to Logan and Gage
Also proud mom to the best Bullmastiff on earth, Claus
