  • I Need Help

I am so desperate Today i went to a pain management center they are going to work on some kind of treatment plan but my next appoinment is not for a month. DirectlyAFTER THAT I WENT TO UROLIGIST I HAVE BEEN FLARING SINCE FRIDAY.
I asked about marcaine for instillations because I read that marcaine last longer . But i had to get on the network find out what people were on and then call doctor to let them know how much and what strength. Friday my primary care gave me vicodin which helps a little. I am SOOOOOOOOOOO tired. He also geave me a antibiotic but it cost to much I don't have any infection we were just going to try that to see if it helps. I am now trying atarax to. ANy thoughts or suggestions. I also was doing instillations three to four times a day and he said I should only do two because Lidocaine could stop your heart is that true??

I don't know about side effects of lidocaine, but I have never had more than one instillation of it in a day. Are you following an IC diet closely and drinking enough water? That can be very important. Have you tried taking some baking soda in water or Tums? Sometimes that helps.

I'm so sorry you're miserable and hope your tomorrow is better.

    Warm hugs,
    Donna

I am following the diet. I have not tried baking soda . and sometimes I fear drinking water so I won't have to pee.

        Chris,
Drugs like marcaine, lidocaine, tertracaine, and procaine are local anestheics for one use but have many other. Lidocaine frequently used as an antiarrhythmic for the heart when the hearts electrical beat has gone funky. Marcaine is often used to numb incisions, your mouth, an epidual and spinals. They can each be used for the same of different purposes based on the decision of the doctor, dentist, or anesthesiologist. Lidocaine can also be used as a gel, a thinner gel that can be used in the mouth, or a patch. Your doc is your best resource, thougt I'd try to help a little.
        Hugs,
        Barb

Chris, I understand the reluctance to drink to try to help urinate less, but what it can do is to allow the urine to become concentrated and even more irritating. I found out the hard way and I make sure I drink at least six cups of water every day. I try for eight, but don't always make it.
