  • Bronchitis and now a flare!

Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I posted! Several days! I started getting sick with a cold last weekend. By Monday I had horrible chest congestion and a weird barking cough. Tuesday night I had horrible chest and back pain. Wednesday I went to the Doc and had a nebulizer treatment and started antibiotics for bronchitis. Luckily I found out yesterday after a chest X-ray that it isn't pneumonia. But these powerful antibiotics made me so sick!
Last night I had awful stomach pains. It was worse than any IC pain I have ever had and that is saying ALOT! I literally laid on the floor outside of the bathroom and cried in between having diahrea for several hours. Finally everything calmed down by bedtime. Unfortunately today I started having alot of pelvic pain and fequency. I really don't know why, but I am assuming it was because of all the pain and inadvertant straining from last night. Now I am off the antibiotic until I can get a new one on Monday. And now the chest pain is back. UGH! I hate when I can't figure out my flares! I just hate this! On top of all of this, my heating pack got a hole in it,so I had to throw it away and I am hurting! I can go get one tomorrow, I just wasn't up to feeling this gross and trying to take my kids shopping tonight while my husband is working. I long for those days when things were so much easier! I get sick alot now and I flare and it seems like a never ending cycle! I just needed to vent!
    Thanks for listening!

          Thanks!

I am feeling a little better today. I have had so much pain I had to take Ibuprofen with the Vicadin. While it helps the pain, it always makes me have to pee alot more than usual. So that is my main complaint today! At least it is Sunday! Hopefully things will be better before I have to work tomorrow night. It is going to be a big group and I hate leaving my co-worker alone with 15 kids every 30 minutes! On an up note, I found a great new heating pad. It has a clay base instead of that goopy blue stuff and seems to warm up evenly and maintain heat longer. Plus it has a strap on the case and I can wear it around my waist like a belt. Not exactly fashionable, but cheaper than always using my disposable heating pads at home and alot easier than trying to keep the heating pad in my waist band. So maybe my old faithful that I have been using for 6 months popped for a reason!
          Thanks again for the encouragement!

              Patricia

I got my heating pad at Walmart. It was only $9.99. I won't spend alot on one. Like I said it was better than the old one I had and it was the same price. It's called the Themipaq. Just thought I'd let you know.
Oh, geesh, I am so used to talking about work that I forget people here don't know me that well! I work part time for a non-profit family agency. Among LOTS of services they have a program that offers free support groups for parents and their kids who have emotional and behavioral disorders (mental illness, ADHD, etc) So my job is to put together activities and help run the kids group in several local counties. It's a fun job and I have gotton tons of experience these past three years. I am hoping though that I will be able to get hired full time next fall as a teaching assistant. I am certified, just got delayed b/c my IC was so out of control last summer when everyone was hiring. I like my job, but there are few hours and it can get very stressful. Plus I have to drive all over and it has gotten tricky with my IC. We have only 2 workers with sometimes as many as 20 kids. And many of the kids have to go to special schools, so it can be very demanding with just two adults. Thanks for asking! I love to talk about what I do, I am very passionate about working with special needs kids!

I have a virus right now similar to the symptoms of Bronchitis. On the first day I got it, I flared so bad, I was literally on my knees on the bathroom floor feeling like I was about to die. I so know how you feel; the combination is excruciatingly painful!

I work for a non profit organization too; a domestic violence agency and I know the stress from that can at times transfer into a flare. I will keep you in prayer both for your daily job and your current health. Be blessed!
