    Hi All

I don't even know if anyone is up right now but just felt frustrated so decided to write on the board.

Woke up this morning around 5:30am with an extreme urgency to pee and I know when urgency wakes me up, it means I'm flaring, and sure enough, right after peeing, I had the burning of a lifetime. I got my heating pad and just started to pray, ran back to the bathroom after which I was in even more pain because nothing came out and the burning grew stronger. I drank some water, took some macrobid and got my heating pad again and just prayed some more. Thank God the pain is gone down a little praise God but I feel sad. I don't know when this is going to go away or if it ever will.

I'm wondering if it was the soup or the virgin mango daiquiri I had at Olive Garden last night. I also had seafood the night before last so who knows? It's so hard to tell my triggers sometimes; esp if I've had those things in the past and haven't been triggered.

Thanks for listening. I appreciate all of you so much. Be blessed.

Mangos can be a problem, as can any kind of alcoholic beverage (especially the latter). Seafood isn't a problem for me unless I have tartar or red sauce with it. I'm kind of unusual, but garlic is a problem for me as well. You might want to check with the restaurant to see if they serve foods with MSG as well, since it's not unusual for it to cause IC symptoms.

In your instance, however, I suspect the daquiri.

Thanks Donna. The daiquiri did not have alcohol in it. It was a virgin one. I don't drink alcohol but as you said it could have been a number of things in the food there. I feel a little better although I took macrobid on an empty stomach this moring so nausea is starting to kick in.

Ugh.. I woke up this morning with the same urgency and pain so I really feel for you right now I have the same problem being able to tell what causes a flare because it could be any number of things. If I drink anything besides water I'll get a flare.. and that's been torture for me!

Well it's a little past 11:15am and I'm hoping you are feeling better now. My thoughts are with you and your hurting bladder <3

It's hard to pinpoint exaclty what bothers your bladder. Especially when your cheating the ic diet, which I do all the time. I cant help it! lol But I would try to drink as much water as possible. Put some baking soda in it. Maybe it will lower that acid in you bladder. I try to flush the flare away by drinking LOTS of Water. I will keep you in my prayers.

                Goldenseal Root

                Thanks Ladies.

I'm still up and down with the flare; it seems that the mornings are worse than the rest of the day. Yesterday morning wasn't so bad but this morning, I was miserable; even the shower was making me burn.

Has anyone heard of goldenseal root? A natural antibiotic? A co worker suggested it for me for preventative measures but I wasn't sure if that was something an IC patient would react to or feel worse after taking.

Thanks for all the support again. Love and prayers to you all

Today I also had a really bad flare up. I had actually got a good night's rest on Sunday night but since then my body has been punishing me. I am not sure why the flare up occurred. I have been keeping to the diet very loyally. It's just been miserable since 3:30am. I have been up ever 20 minutes! I have a quiz in a few hours and am just dreading that I will have to sit there for a long period of time. Any ideas of what I can do in the meantime?

So sorry for your pain sarahjth; I know how uncomfortable it can be when you have to be somewhere. I had an important meeting this morning and I prayed and prayed my way through it; drinking a lot of water helps; also thermacare heating patches really help me too (usually in the feminine aisles at a grocery store/pharmacy). Good luck on your test!

Thank you for caring! It's just a miserable thing to go through. I just WISH we all didn't have this but then again I try to be optimistic and say it could much, much worse. However, it's hard to think that way during a flare up!
