  • OMG! It's Baaaack- Horrible Burning and Rediculous Frequency

After about a six week respite from any major flaring my IC symptoms are back with a vengance. My bladder woke me up about 4:30am and I have been completely miserable ever since I am peeing every 15-20 minutes and my bladder feels like it is full of hot acid. I have called in sick today and if I don't start feeling better in next couple of hours I will probably go to the uro's office to be checked out for a uti. Overall I have been doing much better over the last month and a half or so. This is soooooo frustrating to know that I probably will never get any permanent relief. I have been doing much better with the IC diet lately and I haven't ate anything spicy so it could be infection. I have been doing more instills the last couple of weeks. Of course as we all know the extra cathing can lead to uti's. This is very frustrating. The instills are something I have to have in order to avoid being in a constant flare and yet they can cause these nasty uti's and make me miserable anyway. I sure wish someone could come with a cure so none of us would have to go through all this crap.

Hi Texashoney, its been a while glad to see you posting again. so sorry that you are in yet another nasty flair. they just seem to hang on to you don't they.
I was wondering if you have considered interstim? not for pain of course, I was thinking if you had urgency pain that sent you into a flair it would help, not to mention the frequency and urgency,
I hope you feel better soon.

See the doctor before you worry yourself into a major depression. It may only be a UTI; that's easily treatable and you'll be fine afterwards.

If it is another flare, well, you have my sympathy. But I'd be very grateful for those six pain-free weeks. This is manageable. Something upset your bladder, so you need either antibiotics or rescue instills, and hopefully whichever one is called for will work as it's meant to. I just think you should get yourself to the doctor ASAP, because the longer you let it develop, the harder it will usually be to treat.

Good luck. I'm rooting for you to beat this thing.
Je vous souhaite de la joie, de la bonne santée, et tout ce qu'il y a de bon dans la vie.
Wishing you happiness and good health, and all the best out of life.

      Peace, Carolyn

This Time It Is a UTI

For the first time in a long time I actually had an inital test show up as postive for an infection. I sure hope the antibiotics clear it ASAP because I really enjoyed my little 6 week peroid of remission. This morning my first pee was still very agonzing but my last a couple of trips to the potty have been a little less painful. I have plans to go out of town this weekend and I hope I start feeling better by then. My bladder always seems to interfering with my plans. It is soooooo frustrating to have such an unpredictable condition. It seems like my bladder likes to act up right before big events. Hopefully by the weekend the burning will subside. I am taking today and tomorrow off from work to see if a little rest will help speed things up. It' s kind of strange be to semi-happy to have a uti (lol) but that's the way it is with this disease.

That's always how it works for me. I'll be feeling great...no ic problems...then I'll get a big flare when I have a big event or need to travel. It bites! Glad to hear it's an infection...hopefully, you'll feel better soon.
