Hi,
I ate grapenuts for breakfast, then for lunch, a had another bowl. Later that evening, I was in a flare! I know it had to be the grapenuts, because thats all I ate that day. I double-checked all the ingredients, and all is IC friendly,....so......maybe the yeast?....I also read that they have a very high malt content, which malt powder is on the "try-it" list?.....I bought the ezekiel cereal that Jill (ICN President) suggested, and it's close to grapenuts, and has proven to be safe......so far.
i get a craving for grapenuts from time to time and bought some last week! BUT, i'm not sure if they're ok for me or not...i was flaring a bit later that day and thought it might be them but man i like them and would hate not being able to eat them...Cream of Wheat flares me up sometimes and that kills, it's my fave cereal...
tried organic peppermint tea from traditional medicinals but i think it caused some grief...will have to try it again to see sometime...but not when i'm feeling lousy b/c as bad as you can feel w/a flare, you can always feel worse if you eat something you shouldn't!
This might sound ridicilous..
but...i think...eating a bowl of GRAPE NUTS Cereal
calms my flares
(there are no nuts in grape nuts..by the way)
Warning:
they are very hard...and I cracked a tooth..last summer eating them.
and ended up needing a root canal/crown.
So please...let them sit in the milk for a minute.
a cup of MINT TEA
a bowl of grapenuts
seems to be working like a charm.
