I can't take this pain anymore. pain is mainly left side from kidney area down my leg. urine doesn't burn but is very hot. pain meds not taking care of it. i called my GP told them I am ging for a pain shot. I hope I can get releif and no hassels. I left work after only 3 hrs. I decided no more physical thereapy. it seems to make it worse. I have had 6 visits I just can't take anymore of this pain.

It took awhile at the er. finally home! heading into bed in a minute. I went in and let them know my pain was bad. the triage nurse KNEW about IC!!! her friend has IC.
anyway the er dr seemed a little distant. I am in pain and wondering whether they will beleve/help me. So I am crying which I hate doing! he called my GP to talk to him about me. they decide give me a morphine shot and run both blood & urine tests--which all came back fine......of course! so i really believe that the phyiscal therapy is causing my flaring right now-- i told er dr that too. I guess that dr said something to the nurse about me or IC, because she had a talk with him about IC.
so he said maybe try anti-depressants/anti seizure meds/ accupunture
my body is getting tolerant of pain meds. he seemed much nicer when he came back in the 2nd time. I told him everything I had tried: hysterectomy, different meds,diet, urethral dilations, gone thru urodynamics,cystocopy, p.t.
he acknowledged that it is a very difficult condition. I feel really depressed about that one.
off to bed now. my husband is off filling my rx for the percocet the dr wrote out for me. I canceled my next therapy appointment. I see my gp on tuesday next week and my uro on the 24th. I also sent a email off to my uro letting her know what was going on.
sorry if i ramble---pain meds--- i am at about a 4 right now. (pain level).

Be grateful the nurse knew about IC and was able to inform the Doctor. I've read so many posts about Doctors not knowing or believing Ic Sufferers.

I hope you are feeling better soon.

Don't forget the heat, it's a great help! It's comforting if you can lower the temp in your room and use a heating pad.

Hope you are feeling better, PT did the same to me and luckily I had to go only 8 times, but after the 2nd I told them how bad I was hurting and they changed things up and more time with heat and tens. but I don't think it helped me at all.

Yeah, PT just hurt me so badly, I don't think there was any benefit to it. But at least it's in my records that I tried. Sorry you had to go through that. The ER is no fun and I know you wouldn't have gone if the pain hadn't been horrible. You were lucky to find someone there who knew about IC!

i know how lucky i have been in the past going there to get good drs. i also have read those posts when people have not been so lucky. i am grateful. I may of already said this but i canceled my therapy appt for next week. thanks!

I am so glad to hear that nurse was on duty and that she knew about IC! God bless her for intervening on your behalf and educating that Dr.! I am glad that gave you something to help you and that it brought your pain down to a more managable level. I hope this flare passes quickly for you and you start feeling better!

I am doing ok. I have some pain & burning. My husband said I looked irratated, no I just burn. I am having a lot of rectal pressure also which I still think is from the P.T.
I was so depressed over this whole thing. I sat with my husband this morning and we went thru the pt handbook (It would be great in book form) with my husband. I told him I need help with this. I need his help with figuring out what to do next. He is wiling to help me. I told him if he was bored to check out the site look it up on the computer, another person to help me and throw out ideas or whatever.
Thank you all! This website is so helpful! I think that without knowig there are others out there I would be able for it!

I see where you said you have rectal pressure or pain, I have the same thing constantly all the time. I had my hydro 2 weeks ago, I go back to the uro the end of the month for my meds, but I am going to the uro today for them to check my urine for possible infection. I kept telling my uro I had rectal pressure/pain and during my cysto/hydro, he did an exam in my vagina and rectum and he felt something hard in my vagina, he had me go back to my gyne and I have some nodules in my vagina, I go friday for a biopsy. I am not sure if that is causing the rectal pressure or if it is from the IC.

It is a very irritating pain and I can't stand it. I take vicodine for pain and it helps just a little, but the pressure is always there.

thanks sue! I was feeling maybe just me but (sorry) glad I'm not the only one. I see my GP in tuesday morning. We shall see what he says. I am hoping no exams but i am sure there will be one!! YUCK!
Between my husband and myself we have decided to ask for a hydrodistension. Time to see what the bladder really looks like!

but after my hydrodistention..i flared big time..for about 6 days
it was detol la that helped me finally get some sleep
i dont use it now.
but is sure helped


since my ic is mild..just frequency & urgeny
they said my bladder look aok
