  • Compazine?

Has anybody ever had a Compazine shot in the arm? If so did it cause a flare for you?

I was given the shot last night in the ER because of sever nausea due to a concussion.

Anyway, now I an flaring BAD and can't take anything stronger than Tylonol and can't take anything with a sedative effect for 48 hours.

I have tried TUMS and Prelief but it's not helping. I can't take my Tramadol
    :-(

    Any ideas???

    Thanks.

Oh that sucks! I've never had a shot of compazine so I can't say about the flare. I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that you're feeling so bad. Have you tried AZO or prydium or something in that same class? That helped me alot before my uro gave me Urelle.

I'm getting sleepy from my own meds and I can't think of any other ideas for you. I hope you start to feel better soon

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

I can't recal when the last time I had that shot, so don't know about the flair.
I wish I could help you. I hope you feel better soon

I suspect the flare has more to do with the trauma of a concussion. I have been given compazine for nausea many times in the hospital with no problem. I get nausea from pain meds so they have to give me something.

I'm extremely allergic to compazine. I have always had an adverse reaction to it and had to have it reversed and gone with Phenergan instead. I would think it very likely it could cause a flare, but who knows?
