  • I never thought this would case a flare...

I sat on a bumble bee and within 20 minutes I have been in an unbelievable flare. I have a lump the size of a golf ball on my bottom and it is throbbing. ughhh I hate bee's

Ouch Leslie! That has got to suck! So sorry. This is why I hate bugs, all bugs are evil, lol

I hope you feel better soon
    Christine

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

Owchie! I HATE bee stings. Last summer we were outside eating and I slipped my foot out of my sandal and when I stepped back in, a bee had taken up occupancy and my foot was like a balloon! If you aren't feeling "strange" you might try some simple old remedies. When I got stung, I took some benadryl, then made a sort of gritty paste of meat tenderizer with drops of water, then put some on a piece of gauze and put it over the sting --- it did really help.

I also do not like bees!!!!!
      Stay safe

I took the Visteril and did the meat tenderizer paste and ice packs. Boy those things pack a punch behind them. It feels like a pitch fork went threw my leg instead of a bumble bee. My neighbor said to use vinegar but ewww the smell.

Good news: you lived, the bee died! (And it deserved its death penalty!)

I've not had a bee sting (knock on wood), but a few years ago I got attacked by a batch of yellow jackets that had built a nest right outside the entrance to the laundry room where I used to live. Somehow the yellow jackets thought I'd gotten too close to the nest & I got stung a bunch of times. They stung my calves, my arm, then got in my hair, stung my scalp a bunch of times. My neighbor took a towel & crushed them on my head, because every time I put a hand up there to try to get rid of them, they stung me more. I spent the next 2 days popping Benadryls & icing everywhere. Nasty little beasts.
                    Wish they'd missed the ark...
