Hi! Elavil works great for bladder pain. It's a prescription and I love the stuff! Do you take Elmiron? Ditropan etc??? There's lots of things out there to make you more comfortable with IC. Good luck! Roxie

I work full time as well. I work in a small office and no one minds how often I pee! It has taken awhile to find a job that understands(and I am in the medical field)but my current job is a blessing! Let me know if I can help!

    Hugs,
    Barb

First of all I would ask your uro for a different bladder pain med that you can take more often. I was worried about taking prydium all the time. I told my uro I was taking it alot and that I had read here that the ones that make you pee blue like Urelle are safer to take long term and more often. He agreed and gave me an rx for Urelle and that seems to help me.

I would also suggest that you see what else your uro can give you to help your symptoms more and try being honest with your boss. My boss has been very understanding. I just provided documentation from my dr's office that I had to be able to make frequent restroom visits and be aloud to make them as often as possible.

If I can think of anything else, let me know. If you ever want to talk to another person working full time w/ IC feel free to PM me!

    Working with pain

I've had IC basically my whole life but it has gotten worse througout the past year. I started a new job this summer and already have had to be sent home because of a flare. I do have perydium but am advised not to take it all the time and i always take precautions especially when i am working. But i still have pain. I love my job but it is outside and i think i would be more comfortable working inside although i would not make the same amount of money. But of course not everyone understands what IC is or how it feels so i am scared of losing my job...
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!
