  • Dilaudid for pain? Cat Scan results questions

    HI,
Well I went back to the Dr. yesterday to get my results on my Cat Scan. I've been having such horrible pain for over 2 months now, non-stop. She wants me to try Dilaudid now. I never heard of it, she said it's like Morphine? The percocet she thinks just isn't doing it for me, but I'm very sensitive to meds and I'm alittle afraid to try it. Has anyone ever taken this? Am I going to be knocked out all day?
Also, My Cat Scan result says "Prominence of the lower uterine segment/cervix. This may be normal, related to fibroids or even cervical neoplasm, Further evaluation with ultrasound and gyn exam is encouraged". Ok first of all, how can it say this may be normal? How are fibroids or cervical cancer normal? I'm confused. AND when I called for the results two weeks ago, the nurse told me it came back negative? Now when I went to the Dr. she tells me this and that I have to go to a GYN for some more tests...Should I be worried or is this normal? Could this be causing all my pain lately? I'm so confused and I hate this stuff. Oh and I did already have a Sonogram and that report showed a cyst on the cervix also, but I guess it's not significant enough that they mentioned it to me, I only saw it on the report she gave me.

If anyone can shed some light on this for me I would appreciate it. Thanks for all your help.

Dilaudid is the best pain med I was ever prescribed. It is small, not mixed with anything and seems easy on my tummy. It controled my pain well without making me dizzy, groggy, sleepy or anything else. It is called hydromorphone as generic so I think it is like morphine. Hope this helps.

Thanks so much Briza and Erika for your replies. I had never heard of that drug before or seen it posted anywhere on here, so thanks for the link and the info, it was a big help. Now I will get the RX filled and not be so afraid to try it. I was really worried that if it was stronger then Percocet that it would knock me out all day. Will let you know after I try it how it worked for me. Thanks again.

Just wanted to clarify some of your posts, are you saying that it may take awhile to help with the pain, or does it help right away?
        Thanks,
