  • Pain management program causing flaring

    Hi guys,
Has anyone done a pain management program whereby you go through a physio/kiniesology program to regain fitness and core stregnth and pelvic floor therapy? The program I am in has this requirement, and after a two hour session today, (half of which is educational), I am flaring like crazy tonight. They warned us that the pain would increase before it decreased, but OUCH OUCH OUCH, this is awful. banghead banghead banghead I am going to stick with it, basically I have nothing else to hold onto for treatment right now scream scream , but I wondered if anyone else had done this .

I am off to find my heating pad, baby

Thanks for your kind words! Teri - I am going to a pain management rehabilitation center that rehabs back injuries and has a pelvic team that rehabs women with gyno problems. I am the first ICer they have taken on, with the condition that my IC is treated by a urologist, and they deal only with the pain. It is covered by my medical insurance completely as a rehab program.

My urologist knew the pelvic pain doctor at the clinic and asked her to take me on because he doesn't have any tricks left to try.

My pain settled down pretty quickly once I treated it and got the heating pad going. I am going to do my exercises now, pelvic floor, and then lower abdominal, and lower back only at this stage. Also, they are teaching me to be in a neutral position at all times because the IC has my posture all out of wack.
