  • will this ever end?!?!?

Yesterday I took a muscle relaxer-my lower back was very tense. Well, this caused a terrible flare. I took two empracet, with no change in the pain at all. I tried to relax with a heating pad-no luck. So, I ended up down at emergency, praying that they would understand my condition. I was very lucky-everyone was great. They gave me a shot of demerol/gravol and gave me some pills to take home with me. I was a long night, and am not still not feeling 100%, but I am drinking a lot of water.
I pray that this will all end (perhaps a remission!) soon. My bladder was just calming down since my flare at xmas and now this.
    thanks for listening.

That is wonderful that the ER staff was so compassionate and helpful! And you probably helped them understand IC a little better so that they will be even more helpful to the next patient who has it.

I hope you continue to feel better and better. kissing

Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)

Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)

I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

I hope you feel better soon. So the muscle relaxer did that? OUCH! Don't worry things will get better. IC isn't all about the pain. THere are good days too. I've been in a remmission for a few months now. It can happen to you too. Hang in there.
