  • Some Days Are Better Than Others - Today Is Not A Better Day

Today has not been one of my better days. Yesterday was unusually long. Worked for 10.5 hrs and attended a CoDA meeting after work. I was hungry and decided to stop at Wendy's for a plain cheeseburger and fries. I usually order this from McDonald's without problems. By the time I got home - WOW WHEW!

I hardly experience burning while urinating. Last night and early this morning, I am experiencing painful urination, pressure, slight burning while sitting, and frequency. I have experienced these symptoms sporaidically in the past. History tells me that it will last for about 2 to 3 days.

Because of my recovery and the fact that my IC is mild, I have refused all mind altering/mood altering chemicals. Therefore, I will rely on what is available at this moment: continue to take Elmiron/CystoProtek and the med that turns the urine blue, stick close to the IC diet, rest, and pray!

Lesson learned: do not eat from Wendy's.

Oh, boy, do I hear you! I had a very good couple of days and then wham - I'm at work and absolutely miserable. The prosed isn't helping at all. I am debating going home and taking a pain pill, but I wanted to take some time off on Friday for fun. I don't want to look like a slacker, since I'm the boss here. I hope you feel better soon. I never eat at Wendy's, but I have good luck ordering burgers without any veggies or sauce on them from most places. Then I go home and put a thin layer of mayo on it.

Sorry you are feeling bad. You might try some over the counter azo to help with the burning.

      Feel better soon,
      Sandra

Thanks for all the responses. You guys are simply great! Today is better than yesterday. After work, I ate IC friendly foods and did what I know to do. The AZO worked!

The rest and meds was exactly what I neeeded.

Once again, thanks for taking the time to respond. This site has been a lifeline!
