  • Going to the uro tomorrow

    Hi all,

I need some advice. I've been diagnosed with IC for almost a year now (had my first in-office cysto w/hydro last June. That coupled with visiting my chiropractor on a weekly basis and cutting way back on coffee and alcohol seemed to provide me with some relief of all of my symptoms for awhile. Occasionally throughout the fall and winter I would have a slight flare which would relieve itself after I would take Prosed DS.

Currently I have been in a mild flare for about 3 months. Last month I had a cysto/hydro under anesthesia which I was hoping would really help me. Unfortunately, the pain is back - although not to the extent that it was. My symptoms are pelvic pain (especially when my bladder is full), some sensitivity and some frequency which is definitely not as severe as many people on this forum, but I am usually in the bathroom once every two hours or so. Doesn't seem like a lot, but I work at a school and it's rough seeing everyone else go through the day without having to rush to the bathroom urgently several times a day.

Anyway, tomorrow I have an appointment with my urologist. Currently I am taking Cystoprotek, 2 pills twice a day and Prelief before meals. I don't drink coffee, alcohol doesn't make me flare, and I'm trying to be as good with my diet as I can. I had bought Turmeric supplements but I feel like for the few days I was taking them, they made me feel a bit worse and brought on some increased sensitivity, so I stopped. I'm wondering what any of you think my next plan of action should be. I'll see what my uro suggests, but you all have been there and know this struggle of finding the best strategies to make you feel better. Just looking for some wisdom before going into this appointment.

    Thanks so much!
