    Donna -

Yes, I'm seeing a urologist for IC but I don't like him and won't see him again! I would like to go see Dr. Parsons but he's downtown and it's quite a drive plus I feel guilty for leaving work early or taking sick leave because of IC.

You may also want to rethink the supplements you are taking. Sometimes those can interfere with prescription medications. At least take the list to your doctor or pharmacist to check for interactions.

I hope you feel better soon.

Might be time for a new Dr. Or a good talk with your current one and maybe some documentation about IC and the emotional aspect. I think we sometimes think they look at us crazy. They have to know that a person with a chronic illness will have depression and possibly pain. If your Dr doesn't get that you might want to try and find one that does. The support of a caring Dr can make you feel better alone. Is that who is treating your IC?

Can you give yourself the time you need to recover and heal from this flare. If you need to take the pain meds don't feel guilty about them, we shouldn't have to suffer this in pain. Pamper yourself for a few days and take some nice warm baths.

I know from your posts today that you are really having a difficult time right now, please call someone for support if you need to.

I will be praying for you to feel better soon.

    Sandra

    In pain since Tuesday

The tax season ended and I decided to have sex with my beloved husband Tuesday night. I guess "I went wild" because it triggered agonizing pain almost immediately. I went pee right after that but I've been in severe pain ever since. That means 3 Vicodins/day just to get through.

I really don't know what else to do! I follow the diet, exercise, take my supplements and the IC doesn't go away. This is so debilitating and the worst thing about it is that my primary care doc doesn't understand what I'm going through and looks at me like I'm some kind of an addict when I ask for an additional anti-depressant or a different pain killer.
