  • Been awhile

it has been a long time since I came on the forum. I have been doing well, up until 2 months ago. I started noticing I had no energy, then I started not being able to sleep, next came the constant urinating, and now everything hurts. I have to make an appointment with my doctor, but it will be September before I can go. I do not have insurance anymore. Basically at the end of 2008 the company I worked for closed and I ended up taking a job that did not offer insurance. Long story short I am back in school with a year left until I graduate now.

I plan in getting insurance through the school in the fall, but the pre-existing condition will not be covered.

I can not get the acidic levels down in my body right now. I have been drinking enough water and eating a very bland diet. I am not sure what else I can do. I am on Hydroxyzine 50mg every night. This is the only medication that I can afford right now. I was on Elmiron prior to losing my insurance, but I can not afford the cost of this medication now. It is 400 dollars without insurance.

I am wondering if anything new has come out that I can try. I am just in so much pain that nothing seems to help. I work full-time and in less than a month I start my fall semester at school. I am lucky that my professors have worked with me. They understand which helps out tremendously. the problem is I need to be able to function on a daily bases, and right now I can not.

The drug company has a program that can help get elmiron at little or no cost. You do need to have your doctor involved, however.

That is good to know. My doctor still writes my prescriptions so i am sure she would not mind contacting the drug company.
