  • I have no idea where I should post this...

When I was looking at one of the threads I noticed someone with an IC-ribbon-graphic in their signature or something. Does anyone know who this was??? Are there multiple people with the ribbon?? I just that was wonderful. It was a lovely idea.

I love the idea too! (By the way, Ronda, thank you for the PM). Unfortunately, I am a remedial computer user and dont know how to cut and paste it in my sig..(if I even have room for it!) But, I totally love the idea!

I also like the idea. I also wonder if there is a way we could get car magnets that support IC. I know I have motility issues of the stomach and also belong to another group called the gastroparesis group, and it is also a rarer disease like IC. They had a bunch of magnets made up for the support of GP. I wonder how we would go about getting them for IC?

Thats a good idea Jen, I know moonheart has a store for IC things like shirts and hats maybe she can help us find the ribbons.. But I posted somewhere else and have dicovered something questionable.. I was googling and seen many sites that has ribbons where you can cut and paste or buy products and all these site does not acknowledge the IC ribbon as being turquoise.. They acknowledge it as being navy blue.. So now im confused.. try googling interstitial cystitis awareness ribbons and you will see what im talking about..

            Hi gals,
Yes it seems the IC Ribbon is Navy Blue not Teal (from what I have seen)....Roxie and tbn where did you find that Teal was the colour for the IC Ribbon? I agree with leelee88.....what I have found is the IC Ribbon is Navy Blue.

You guys seem to be right. I looked it up to post one on my myspace page and all of the sites list it as being navy blue so that's the one that I put up. Maybe we thought it was turquoise because the IC awareness bracelet has turquoise for the lettering?
                Christine

I have been diagnoised for 6 1/2 years now. I have taken a long break from the ICN but really miss helping out my fellow IC patients and want to get back into posting.
1st hydro 4/07 showed no visible signs of IC but tons of mast cells in all my biopsy samples which did prove IC.
2nd hydro 4/13/09 showed dark purple glomerulations and I had a capacity of 450 cc's. This hydro proved that my IC had progressed.
I have tried every oral medication as well as rescue instills and DMSO.

I have been lucky enough to see Dr Hanno, the top IC specialist in PA who has told me due to the fact that I have not responded to any "standard" treatments that I have a severe, end stage case of IC with a horrible quality of life (didn't have to tell me that last part!)

                    Hi guys!

I talked to Jill about this weeks ago and she said that the ICN has taken turquoise for the color which is why the website here has that as the main color.

I'm going to have some items with the ribbon for sale by tonight. I should have the stamps, magnets, bumper stickers, and some shirts and jogging outfits.

I also want to do a calendar. If anyone is interested in helping with that or has good ideas of what the monthly pics should be, please contact me by pm or email at [email protected] .

                    Thanks,
                    Moonheart

But why did we "take on" the colour turquise if the rest of the world believe the IC ribbon to be Navy Blue? I think it should be what the rest of the Country believes it to be......Navy Blue....what do others think of just making a change to the color? What is the reason behind making the change from Navy Blue to turquise? Sorry, not trying to be difficult but wondering what the significance would be to change the color in mid "getting the word out to the world"? Shel.

I honestly don't believe it was initially navy blue. I think it's the turquoise and maybe some websites got confused. If the ICN and maybe even the ICA have decided that it's turquoise then those are the people that matter. We're the ones that matter, not the rest of the world. We're the sufferers, we're the survivors, we're the fighters that carry the standard and if we carry turqoise standards, who in the world is to say differently?

Almost done with the site. I'll just add in the other design later.

Actually Roxie every color has many diseases associated with that colour but am yet to find anything that says Turquoise is for IC. All web sites seem to say Navy Blue, I just think somehow a standard was made and that was Navy Blue, are we or a rep going to inform all groups of the color change as well?

Did we (as in the "ICers") ever say it was navy blue??? I have always thought it was tuqouise also?? Is it just the websites that say the color is navy blue?? If they are the ones who came up with the idea, they cannot do that. Don't we have to appove of it?? It is our color. I would assume we would get to choose. Lol.
