My hubby just sent me a link to this site today. It's www.igive.com. Basically, it's a mall-type Web site with tons of stores like Kohl's, Target, etc. Each store gives a certain percentage of your purchase to the charity of your choice and you pay the exact same price! It's a cool idea. If enough of us do it, it certainly can't hurt.

Right now the ICA is the only IC group I saw on the site. Maybe we can see about adding in the ICN as well. I think it's a great idea if you're going to be shopping online anyway. THey also offer various discounts and coupons through some of the sites. While some percentages are kind of low (around 1%), others are higher. And if we lots of us donate 1% that can add up.

Anyway, I just had to share that!

I recently spoke to Jill regarding this. She said that it would not be a really good idea, What you have to do is open your own account with them, and you get a percentage of what people buy. You will have to claim it on your taxes, you will have to do a 1099. Then you are looking at running your own business and you have to take out x amount of dollars to pay taxes. There is alot more to it then what it appears to be.

That is a very cool idea! I had not heard of that before. Thanks for passing this on to us.

Just going to throw in a plug for my store, The IC Team. You can't beat 10% donated to the ICN as well as knowing that I'll be personally using much of the proceeds to fund myself working on behalf of IC awareness.

Plus, you don't have to worry about claiming it, running a biz, or anything like that.

Good point, Moonheart! Thanks for reminding us. I'm all for helping a worthwhile cause however I can and, of course, IC is my favorite cause to support. (Wish it weren't for such personal reasons, though. I think I could support it and not have it!)

LOL, I know it was fairly shameless, but just figured 10% is better than 1% You get a neat shirt also!
