  • IC Awareness Favorite Recipe Cookbook

I'm putting together a fundraising cookbook for another non-profit, and I thought, why not?

I'd like it to be the IC Survivor's Favorite Recipe Cookbook.
So what I'd like to do is have you all send your submissions to [email protected] and I'll publish it. Each cook will have their picture and bio on the left hand side of the book, and then the recipe will be on the facing page on the right. I'm even thinking of having you just send your favorite regular recipes, and then printing that in a box or something, then having the recipe IC'd up in larger print, on the main body of the page.

If you would like to be included in the cookbook, send your submissions to [email protected] with IC Cookbook in the subject line. Cooks will get their very own copy of the cookbook for free in PDF format. The cookbook will be sold in The IC Team Store and I'll announce here when it's completed.

Let's put together an awesome cookbook okay ladies?! I'll even donate 50% of the profits of this project to The ICN!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

What an excellent idea. I love recipes and cookbooks! Do you want only things that are friendly for most bladders? Some of my recipes work for me, but wouldn't for everyone. For example, I have a recipe for bacon bread that's a favorite around our house. And, should we just pick one of our very favorites? Or can we send a couple?

BTW, I work as a full-time freelance journalist (I have two degrees in journalism), so if anyone needs help in putting together a bio or with editing, feel free to e-mail or PM me. My e-mail is [email protected].

Just a suggestion. I bought an IC cookbook that was a fundraiser for a small IC support group. It was annoying & disappointing to pay for it & then find that I could only use a small amount of the recipes included. I already have that experience with every other cookbook I own!

I know there are a lot of individual differences in individual tolerances, but maybe if we could avoid ingredients in the "usually problematic" column & feature mostly recipes with "usually ok" ingredients of the ICN Patient Handbook diet, that would be really helpful!

                Thanks!

You can send as many as you want, and I want it to be regular recipes. Then we can do the main recipes in the main part of the page, and the IC'd recipe in the smaller part of the page, or something like that. You know, taking regular food, and making it IC friendly.

Wonderful idea helping people with their bio's, thanks so much!

                    Hi Kadi,

I wrote an answer above, but here it is again.

I want to have people send in their regular favorite recipes. You know, down home good old fashioned food! YUM!!! Then, in a small box on each page, I will IC it up, and make it IC acceptable, and make it so that it is IC friendly and edible for IC'ers.

How does that sound to you?

Send in LOTS and LOTS of recipes guys! Not many are coming in at all, and we need many more. Make sure you put IC Cookbook in the subject line of your email.

                    Hugs,
                    Moonheart:woohoo:

Sounds like a good plan. I just e-mailed three recipes -- all of which are pretty IC friendly to begin with.

Stacey, I never received any of your recipes. I scrubbed my emailbox clean looking too. I couldn't ever find them.

Could you and anyone who wants to get into the cookbook, as I am looking to wrap it up, please email any recipes to [email protected] which is a new email addy I set up just for this project.

Thanks so much guys! Take care and hope to hear from you soon!

                          Hi, Wendy.

Sorry to take so long to get back to you about this. I've been swamped with work stuff. Anyway, I just re-sent the recipes to the other e-mail address. If they don't come through again, let me know and I can just post them or PM them to you.
