  • BUTTER COOKIE RECIPE?????

Hello Everyone!!! I'm wondering if any of you have a K.A. recipe for homemade butter cookies. I'd like to make them this year--Please look in your recipe box and pull out that time tested recipe. I want that butter cookie recipe that's got oil stains on it and has "crusties" on it because its been used so many times. I would be so happy and truly appreciative. Thanks so much in advance!

      Hi Yvette,
I think I have that butter cookie recipe you're looking for. Anyway, I think it's the best! It's a family favorite. I hope you like it.

      Old Fashioned Butter Cookies

      3/4 cup sugar
      1 cup butter, softened
      2 egg yolks
      1 teas. vanilla
      2 cups flour
      1/4 teas. salt
Heat oven to 350. Combine sugar, butter, egg yolks and vanilla. Beat at medium speed, until well mixed, one to two minutes. Add flour and salt, beat at low speed until well mixed, 2 to 3 minutes.Shape rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into balls. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten cookie to 1/4 inch thickness with bottom of glass dipped in sugar. Bake 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. C ool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets. Makes about 2 1/2 doz.

I can see that this thread is very old, but I just wanted to write in and say I used your recipe tonight! I was missing cookies sooo much, so I'm so happy to have found this. I just ate some of them and they are so good!
Update! Feeling much better these days and no longer on any meds!

Pelvic pain began July 2008. Urinary frequency began in November of 2008. IC Doctor says I'm one of the worst frequency patients he has had.

Things that helped me the most: IC Diet, Elavil (30mg), Elmiron since June '09 (500mg/day).

Previously tried and quit: one series of six instillations, Neurontin, Ditropan, Oxytrol, electric stimulation to the pelvic floor, Desert Harvest Aloe, Cystoprotek and Flomax, Hydroxyzine (50mg), Alesse Birth control (this helped my period flares when my symptoms used to be bad), PTNS (I think this helped).
