So I just got my period and the pain is SO bad. My bladder remains in remission (don't know how) but my bowels are not so lucky. Anyway, does anybody have any suggestions on getting rid of the cramps from H3LL?
Things I have tried:
Heating pad
Laying down
Tylonol (sp?)
Warm Liquid (tea--decaf, chamomile, green--about 6 cups )
Non-salted saltines (threw those up)
Things I can't try:
Ibuprophen (sp?) or any meds like that
I feel like I am about to give birth to all of my inner organs so ANY ideas are welcome.
Thanks

I'm so sorry you can't have ibuprofen, because that is the medicine (and the only medicine) that really works for me. Even narcotics don't give me nearly the pain relief of ibuprofen in this case.
What I used to do before there was ibuprofen was, I'd spend the day at home, and run very hot baths all day long. So hot I almost felt burned by the water, as hot as I could stand it. And then I'd lie there in the bathtub until I didn't feel my cramps anymore. Then I'd climb out and go to bed. Then when the cramps came back, it was back in the tub. Did this all day long. Also, a very hot hot water bottle (those red rubber thingees in drugstores and Wal-mart on the bottom shelves, may be called an enema bad also) worked well for me. But be careful not to actually burn yourself with either the hot water bottle or the bath, check frequently to make sure your skin is not being burned by the hot water bottle.

Thank you so much for the ideas. I do have a rubber hot water bottle and will go fill that. Unfortunatly I only have a shower but I DO have a plastic seat/stool thing for the shower so I'm gonna get that and just sit under the shower head and run the hot water.

I'm sorry you are having such horrid pain. What helps me is to soak in a hot tub or a hot steamy shower and LOTS of rest, crawl back in bed if you can and get as comfy as possible! Hopefully the tylenol will kick in soon !
