Oh yes, I have back pain in the same areas that glass is talking about!
I went to my Primary Care doctor, who sent me for xrays & told me
there was nothing wrong with the discs in my back. When I saw my
Urologist, he told me the back pain was "referred pain" from my bladder.
The bad side to this is that he offered nothing to treat the pain, other
than the Pyridium Plus that I already take.

Actually, the back pain I have now is much worse than any bladder
symptoms I have. I do get some relief from the topical pain patches
that are sold over-the-counter. The one I like best is Tiger Balm, and
it lasts for about 6 to 8 hours.

I'm hoping someone out there can give suggestions for help with this pain.
I have had a complete hysterectomy about 8 years ago, so in my case,
I KNOW the pain I'm having is NOT endometriosis -- you have to have a
    uterus for THAT!

      Lidoderm

Well, as I said, prescription lidocaine patches (lidoderm is the brand name) work very well for me. They are much stronger than what you can get over the counter.
Je vous souhaite de la joie, de la bonne santée, et tout ce qu'il y a de bon dans la vie.
Wishing you happiness and good health, and all the best out of life.

      Peace, Carolyn

Actually endo can be anywhere in your abdominal cavity and attached to your organs and other tissue. It can and does return even after a hyst and many women continue to suffer even after hysterectomy. I'm one of them. I'm so glad you don't have ongoing pain from it.

N'importe Qui, I have made an appointment with my urologist to ask
about the lidocaine patches that you suggested. As you said, I'm sure they would be much better than what I can buy over-the-counter.
I really am ready to get this under control a little more that what
pain level I have right now. MAKING myself go to work this morning
          was quite a chore!

I also get severe back pain when I am flaring. It's down my spine and in my lower back. It sometimes curls around to my sides. Man, IC flares are no fun!

They're definitely no fun -- that's the understatement of the century! Terri, I hope it helps. I know they have improved my quality of life enormously. Good luck!

PS -- I really chose a bad user name, because everyone shortens it to n'importe, which is colloquial French for "doesn't matter." LOL. I'd prefer to be addressed as Carolyn, please!

Does anyone go to a chiropractor for relief?
