  • Nausea From Increasing Pain

HAVE BEEN GOING THROUGH MEDICATION ADJUSTMENTS. DOE ANYONE ELSE HAVE NAUSEA WITH MEDICATIONS? I'VE BEEN ON HIGHER DOSES OF ALL MY MEDICATIONS, TODAY IS THE WORST. I WORK FULL TIME WITH A PAIN LEVEL OF (4) 24/7.MANY ALLEGERIES TO ALOT OF PAIN MEDS. TRYING TO KEEP MY SANITY IS QUITE A CHORE. MY SISTER'S TELL ME THEY DON'T KNOW HOW I DO IT. IF IT WASN'T FOR MY FAMILY I DON'T KNOW EITHER . I GOT PROBABLY 1 HR. OF SLEEP LAST NIGHT. I SHOULD HAVE MY HUSBAND MAKE A PILLOW HOLDER IN THE BATHROOM , THAT AWAY I COULD SLEEP A WINK OR TWO IN BETWEEN. I'M GRITTING MY TEETH ALOT TODAY, THE PAIN IS INCREASING WITH THE NAUSEA, I TRIED SOME LIGHT LUNCH BUT IT DIDN'T STAY DOWN. CO-WORKER ISN'T SYMPATHETIC AT ALL SINCE I WAS DIAGNOSED 7 YRS. AGO. THAT'S LIFE.

You should ask your Dr. for either Phenergan or hydroxyzine to take with the pain medication - they prevent nausea.

      Eskimo,
Sometimes I get the nausa when I take medication. Taking it when you after you have something on your stomach helps some, if that does not help try an over the counter anti-nausa medication over the counter. I get heartburn alot so I take tums or rolaids it seems to help some or 12 or 24 hour one. &-up or spirte calms the stomach down as well. Those are just some suggestions I have.
      Good luck!

I can't take any pain medication without taking anti-nausea meds with it. The one I use is phenergan --- it comes in tablets or suppository (if you're vomiting the suppository is probably best). There are also other meds of the same type that don't cause as much sleepiness as phenergan --- compozine (sp) is one and I know there are others.

Compazine works well for me with nausea. There is also zofran, but phenegran is stronger. Hope you feel better soon.
