Is there anyone out there that has such bad chemical sensitivities like I do? Tylenol even flares me so I have trouble finding anything except Urised (this actually eases my flares). Has anyone with these same issues found an over the counter pain med that helps? I have acid reflux too so I can't really do aspirin either. I have a miserable cold today, and my back, hip, bladder, body is so sore that I need something. I took Claritin, Riccolla cough drops, Cysta Q yesterday. Any insight would be appreciated.

I'm sorry I don't have any answers for you......I am fairly new with the meds thing and learning about the diet as well......I have just been prescribed Urised.....have not tried it yet.......you said it helps with your flares.......Does it make you drowsy? any other side effects to be worried about.
Thanks

I don't notice any side effects at all. It might relax me a bit, but it's hardly noticable. It can slow down the colon though so it could cause constipation a bit, but once again I haven't had any problems with it. If you are in a flare it can give you great relief. I take it when I know I"m going out somewhere special or on a plane trip.

One thing to try for body pain (doesn't help inside the bladder) is lidocaine transdermal patches. I think the brand name is lidoderm. It's prescription only. Since it goes straight through your skin onto the painful area, it never enters the digestive tract at all. I know it helps my back and hips a lot, which in turn allows me to relax a little, and not clench up so much around the bladder pain. Not clenching helps ease the bladder pain a bit, or at least keeps it from getting worse.
The only things that really help my internal bladder pain are (1) narcotics and (2) lidocaine-heparin-sodium bicarb instillations.
I wish you all the best, and hope you can get your pain under control very soon.Je vous souhaite de la joie, de la bonne santée, et tout ce qu'il y a de bon dans la vie.
Wishing you happiness and good health, and all the best out of life.
Peace, Carolyn

Thanks Carolyn,
I think I figured out why the acetaminophen I was taking flared me. I noticed it had sodium metabisulfite in it, and that's one of the no no ingredients under additives in the ICN Handbook. It is the generic Equate brand. I looked on the internet for the ingredients in regular strength tylenol, and it has very few ingredients in it so I'm going to give it a whirl, and see what happens. If I flare I always have my trusty Urised. I'm just dying today with this cold, and body aches everywhere.
