Did anyone ever have vicoden give them anxiety. I would have anxiety attacks if I did not take a vicoden. Once I took the vicoden it would calm down. Was it w/d from vicoden or plain anxiety- fear of losing job FMLA days exhausted. My vicdoen was 5 -7 tablets a day for last one year. I was running out before 30 days. My MD was reluctant to call in more. MD's Rn treated me like an addict as did one pharmacist.

MY family wanted me off Vicoden they saw what it was doing to me. Also Ambien had a problem same thing and side effects with that as vicoden.

Oxycontin took for 3 days as I said I spent 3 days in bed drugged out. I had to call into work. I am off on personal LOA with no pay and now paying for my own benefits.

Please share your vicoden issues. I see some of you take 5 daily.

    Thanks VIcky

It most certainly is the withdrawels! After being on it for a period of time your body gets dependent on it. I have the same thing happen to me if I skip a few doses of the norco. I start having anxiety, stomach cramps, terrible feeling! Try tapering down if you are going off of it. Cut the pills and half before completely going off of the meds. Klonopin or valium helps I have read if you can get a script that would be great. Your best bet is to talk to your Dr and tell them what is going on! Take care and good luck! I hope you feel better soon! I know how you feel!

        Hi there!

I'm only supposed to take it as needed (usually once a day at bedtime to help me sleep/before sex) but I find that so long as I take it I'm not anxious. Without it long as a bathroom is close I'm okay...but if I don't know when I'll be able to get to the bathroom next I FREAK out. Please please talk to your doctor and let them know what's happening and if you can, see if they'll recommened you to a pain specialist who can work with you on this. (If you haven't already.)

As well as these meds work...we will build a tolerancy to them which in some cases leads to addiction, even if it's not our own fault. (I strongly feel there's a difference between people who are so used to taking something because they need it that have issues coming off opposed people who are just taking it for fun.)

For me...Vicodin means less pain for the next few used to be no pain...but it's starting to work less and less, and I know my doc doesn't want to up the dose cos he's afraid of my dependacy. But it's such a wonderful feeling to not be wondering how many times you're going to have to getup to go to the bathroom in the next hour.

        Good luck!!!

I am the same if I take the Lortab, I can go about 1 hour without potty break, and without, sometimes every 10 to 15 mins. I don't know what it does, if it is just taking the pain away, pressure that actually makes the bladder feel better. Who knows.

I was given codeine after a knee surgery and when I was allergic to it my OS prescribed vicoden. It was suppose to be the next best thing. It was but I was also allergice to vicoden too . The next surgery I was prescribed tramadol which has some codeine in it so I am allergic to it. Then I was prescribed percocet and I am allergic to it. I am down to morpheme and Demerol. So I hope I don’t need anything for pain. It seems that if I take anything for more than a couple of times I end up being allergic to it.

I just needed to vent a little . The pain I have had from IC was so little that I don’t think I even associated it with IC. My knee pain is a different story . I think my pain is relative. Maybe IC is not as painful to me because I have had such incredible knee pain and I have just not noticed any pain from IC.

Too bad IC can‘t be treated the way I treat knee pain. I just freeze it .

Well I would have to agree with the other ladies. Taking it for that long it sounds like w/d to me.

I have to say I have taken V for about 2 years or so maybe 3. I gotta think about it. lol I have been taking 7/500 or some call it 750. That's what my GYN has been giving me and I was taking about 3-4 a day.

Now that I'm seeing this pain doc, he has put me on Norco 10 and it helps but it seems that I have what I think is break threw pain. I am trying to watch my pills cause he only gave me 60, which I understand. I am getting a higher dose but I'm not sure about the break threw stuff.

I would call your dr and make an appt to see him or get yourself in with a pain doc. You have to be up front and honest with your doc.

I know it bites that they all seem to jump to thinking that we are seekers, when in fact we are not. We are people who are in pain, and we can't tell you when it is going to happen or for how long. That is the one thing that I truly hate about this hurts like Heck!!!

Well I hope that you are able to work this out with your dr and I will be thinking about you. Take care

pain clinic I called they did nothing-just keep my appt. on May 31st. Take oxycontin IR for prn pain. I hate that oxycontion it makes me feel ill.I have been off Vicodin for one week- they stopped it just like that and thought the oxycontin ER would help me. I could not stand that either. I have xanax from my GP I would say that doesn't work real great on my anxiety either. I have insomnia. I wake up every morning around 4-5am. It is 530am now. I can't take the ambien either. I was taking more then needed. Had some serious w/d off of these to. I would not recommend ambien for a long period . I was on it nightly for 2 years- then it stops to work. You take it and wake up all night. Anybody else on ambien for long term use? Vicky

I have been taking vicodine since at the very least 2001. Some times the doc switchs to Darvocet if I ask. There has been lots of times That I have gone weeks with out taking anything for pain. I have never had any attacks or the need to feel like I need it. I had a horrible experienc with elavil and that is great rof some with pain Isn't it weird how we all react to different meds.
                  has anyone tried the ultraset?

I have been taking vicodin for at least since 2001 (before that for surgeries) - starting with the lowest dosage possible and now at 10 mg. Never have had any problems with side effects. I take up to 4 as needed - sometimes I take that many but there are also days that I take none.
