Guys, I need a shoulder to cry on. I went to the pain doctor today. They are putting me on morphine for the ic pain. That was the good news. So ,I went to my pharmacy, They did not have the drug. I went to another pharmacy. No luck there either. I went to ANOTHER pharmacy. No they don't have it but they make a call to another store about about 20 minutes away and they do have it. So, I go there only to be told that I was "missing" a form needed by the state of Texas to be allowed this drug. Mind you, I haven't been able to leave home in about 3 months because I am so sick amd so weak from the pain. And here I am running myself all over for nothing. By the time I left the last place the doctors office was closed of course. So I will call them in the morning and I guess I will be making the 30 minute drive, plus a long walk to see them again. I'm so upset!!

Oh gosh! Maybe the doctor's office can fax this missing form? I'm not sure what the protocol is now for filling a script of pain meds.
But with all the hipe now, I'm sure it stinks.
I know around here when a pharmacy is out of something, they get it in the very next day.
I hope you can get some sleep tonight.
And hopefully tomorrow will have morphine in your cabinet.
Huge fluffy lumpy hugs!!!!Tons of support,
Jaime

Diagnosed August 2001
Current IC meds: Elmiron (since 2001), Levaquin (one pill after intercourse to prevent UTIs), Effexor (for depression & anxiety)
Past IC meds: Amitriptyline (Elavil), Hydroxyzine (Vistaril), Detrol LA, Lexapro (for depression & anxiety, but also helped my IC) (They all helped, but I was able to discontinue them.)
I've been virtually symptom free and able to eat & drink whatever I'd like for about 8 years now.

That's terrible. I'm surprised the pain center didn't know you would need that form. I hope you are able to get it tomorrow with no problems.

The one thing I have learned since we moved to Texas 4 1/2 years ago, is that it seems everything is done just a little different here. Hopefully you can get what you need and get some relief. Hugs,Jolene

My pharmacy orders my Elmiron for me. So maybe a pharmacy that is close to you could do that for morphine. I don't know how long it would take for it to arrive at the pharmacy. But you could ask to find out. My Elmiron takes a couple of days. I do hope that you feel better.

So sorry you are in this situation. ON Xmas day
I had a similar experience followign a visit to
the ER-trying to get a scrip for B&O suppositories
filled. Ended up back at the hospital where
they filled it from the in-patient pharmacy.
The Pain Mgt Clinic should have been aware of this, but I have found the clinics, hospitals,
etc don't always know what is a "stock" item.
And here in Green Bay, they will only fill any
narcotic drug with a written scrip (no phone ins,
etc).
I sure hope you get your meds and can find some
relief soon.
Take care,

Hi everyone ! Thanks for your support. After 2 hours and about 6o miles I do at last have my pain meds. (Thank you Jesus!) I'm going to relax now and get some much needed rest. It meant so much to me to be able to tell someone who would understand what had happened to me and how I was feeling. Thank you being there for me ! BIG BIG HUG from me to you!!Comment
