  • Neurontin

Does anyone have any good/bad experiences with this med? The pain clinic prescribed it today, going to take it for 2 weeks eventually getting up to a 1200mg. doseage and then go back to the pain doc to get evaluated to see how it does. I really hope this works, otherwise they want to ship me off to a neurologist.

    Thanks,
    Jess

I took Neurontin along with a pain med and I was falling asleep while driving to work. Hope you are not on pain meds also.

I'm not on any other pain meds, I can't tolerate narcotic meds. I can't work so I don't really drive, so I guess this should work out ok. Thanks.

Hi Brat, you sound like me, and Jess, I am on oxycontin right now, and so far just a little nausea, and sleepy. What is Neurotin, is it for pain relief of the nervous system? Take care and hugs Iris. hi grouphug

Neurontin helps many patients with IC nerve pain; however, a few find that the pain becomes worse from Neurontin. It does make you sleepy at first but if you increase the dose very slowly it makes it easier to tolerate. There are many people out there who swear by it. But, I think I am one of the few for whom the pain increases.

Hey Jess. I take Neurontin 300mg 3 times a day. I started off with only 100mg a day. I don't remember it making me sleepy though. Maybe I was on enough other meds that made me sleepy that it didn't bother me.

                            Hi Jess-
I took Neurontin-on a slow start 1 300mg pill a day until my body adjusted to it. I took it for one week and my uro told me to stop since I had extremely blurry vision and extreme dizziness and when I walked I would constantly fall to the right. I have heard that it has worked extremely well for some people. Good luck! hi
