  • HELP! I'm in a flare!

I feel so miserable at the moment. I was diagnosed with IC about 4 years ago and after undergoing a cystoscopy and following the IC diet I found major relief and a huge reduction of my symptoms for a whole 2 years.

However, over the last few days (and during the festive season) I've been having an awful flare (I also believe I may have thrush too) and I've had to call in sick at work today - which is my first day back after 10 days off. I've also only been in the job 5 weeks so I feel awful about having to stay off.

I've been up during the night being sick. Is this an IC side effect? and after drinking litres of bottled water and not touching any risk foods I still feel sore after three days. Please can anyone offer any advice?

I really want to feel well enough to go back to work tomorrow as I don't want to let anyone down. But I feel so alone with this illness
    Thanks
    Love Lauren x

Had IC for five years (2005) but was only diagnosed in 2007. I was almost pain free for 2 whole years after having a cystoscopy and altering my diet drastically. However, I am now experiencing painful flares once again and wondering if the effects of the cystoscopy have worn off? Feeling miserable and hoping to find some support and friends on here

    Ic

Get in to see your uro ASAP. Together you should be able to find a treatment plan. I myself am on DMSO treatments which are working so far.

If you had relief for two years after the hydrodistention that diagnosed you, you may be among those who are helped by the procedure. I agree that you need to see your uro.

I hope you feel better quickly.

      Warm hugs,
      Donna

If you're having pain and vomiting, you may have an infection. I always throw up with a bladder and/or kidney infection. Like everyone else said, get to the doc and I hope you feel better soon.
